bRownson worship and music
Psalm 100 “Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth. Serve the Lord with gladness; come into his presence with singing.”

Colossians 3:15-16-17 “And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in the one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; teach and admonish one another in all wisdom; and with gratitude in your hearts sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”

Compelling worship is one of our core values at Brownson Church. Compelling worship is that step beyond normal that opens all your senses and allows you to experience your faith. Compelling worship is engaging, grabs your attention, and allows you to be part of.. Compelling worship is authentic, true to Reformed Presbyterian Traditions, true to theology, reflects who we are as Brownson. Compelling worship is meaningful, has purpose behind, thought given to the parts and explains why.

Worship is an expression of reverence or adoration and when we participate in the act of worship, we are connected to God through this expression. Music is a powerful form of spiritual expression and by its very nature gives words more meaning. When we express our faith through music by singing the psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, we not only connect ourselves to God, but also to one another as the body of Christ. In this expression, we experience God’s love, God’s joy, God’s justice, and peace, and through this experience together, we are inspired to live out our call to serve God’s loving purpose and to show God’s love to world in our daily lives.

The Music Ministry is a key and essential part of compelling worship, and we welcome ALL to participate. The opportunities listed below are some of ways YOU can become a part of the Brownson Music Ministry. Contact Amy Shortt, Director of Music Ministries at music@brownsonchurch.org for more information.

The Chancel Choir leads the congregation in worship in both Sunday services on Communion, Advent, Lent, Easter, and Pentecost.
