Youth Group
Brownson has a vibrant and growing youth ministry for all students in grades 6-12. On Sunday nights, September through May, youth group meets 5-7 PM in the youth suite for dinner, fellowship, games, a Bible lesson, and small group discussion time. Youth make connections and build relationships through a variety of activities like bowling, the annual ski trip, large group games, scavenger hunts, small group outings, pumpkin carving and more. A yearly theme verse guides Bible lesson and small group discussion time.

Throughout the year, the youth also join in service activities like hosting a community Trunk or Treat, singing Christmas carols to home-bound members and volunteering for Vacation Bible School. Brownson Youth seek to live as Christ's disciples through our ministry, mission, and fellowship with one another, with our church, and with our community.

Summer Opportunities
During the summer, youth have the opportunity to participate in three life-changing, faith-growing, friendship-building trips. Middle school youth head to Massanetta Springs Conference Center in Virginia for their annual three-night conference full of worship, dancing, games, outdoor recreation, small group conversations, workshops and even a giant slip n slide. High school youth attend Montreat Youth Conference for a week in the mountains of North Carolina where they meet people from around the country, learn from amazing speakers and get to explore God’s beautiful nature. All youth are able to participate in Appalachia Service Project, a week-long mission trip to rural Appalachia. On this trip, youth provide critical home repair for people in need through a variety of projects like building ramps, putting up siding, replacing flooring and more.

High School Youth Bible Study
During the school year, high school youth meet on Thursday mornings 7:30-8:20 AM at PineScone Southern Pines to dig into God’s word, share their faith and deepen their relationship with Christ. Rides to Pinecrest High School are provided by adults and older youth.
Pancake Breakfast
Every year the youth host a Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser. This delicious event brings the church together and raises money for the youth’s summer trips. Because of the generosity of the church and their giving at the Pancake Breakfast, the cost for all trips is reduced, chaperone costs are covered, and gas, housing and food are paid for.
